Samsung NF-310 Windows 7 x64 Brightness
For everybody who has tried installing a 64bit version of windows on a Samsung netbook (with GMA 3150) and he is unable to control the brightness…
1) Download the latest driver from Intel
2) Navigate through regedit to 2 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet
3) Press Ctrl+F to find: FeatureTestControl and replace every “184” value with “84”
Have fun!

what driver do you need? Most of them are compatible with x64 😉

Thanks for information works nicely with NF310. Maybe this “flaw” is because people used drivers directly from Intel.

I had the same problem with 32bit Win7 Starter with SP1 and Intel 3150 drivers 8.14.10.2230 (24.10.2010) and this hint solved my problem with reducing brightness too.

I have already a 84 value, so it doesn’t work on my Samsung N150 Plus

do you have windows 7 or 8? I never managed to do this tweak under 8…
if you are on w7 try an alternative driver from either samsung or intel….

Replace FeatureTestControl value with FFFE and install Samsung Easy Display Manager (last version for NF310 on Samsung Support website).
Windows 8 brightness control doesn’t work very well, but Easy Display Manager works perfectly.
Tested on Samsung NF-310 Windows 7 installation updated to Windows 8.1 update 1
